Abstract
In order to better understand the functioning of Tempering systems, the National Property Board of Sweden has installed a Tempering system and a conventional convection heating system in two almost identical pavilions at Salsta Palace in Sweden. The aim of the project was to measure the indoor and outdoor climate as well as the energy consumption for both so to be able to compare the two systems. Temperature and relative humidity (RH) have been measured within the walls in an attempt to understand the change of Moisture Content (MC) in the wall when a Tempering system is in use. The main result was that the Tempering system used 20% less energy than the conventional heating system.
