Abstract
Describes the Generon Air Separation System, which utilizes membrane technology to separate compressed air into enriched nitrogen and oxygen streams. A full equipment description is given together with operating data and an outline economic analysis. The authors give a case history showing how the system has been used to produce an inert atmosphere for purging tanks and blanketing raw materials and reactor operations. The technique might be useful in conservation to provide an inert atmosphere in showcases and stores to preserve or prolong the life of artifacts. -- AATA
