Abstract
George Cunha's Library Technology Reports on mass deacidification for libraries is reviewed, with special emphasis on the diethyl zinc and Wei T'o processes. Wei T'o is viewed as a successful process. Particular attention is paid to the lack of peer review by qualified chemists and poor quality control that have negatively affected the efforts of the Preservation Office of the Library of Congress to develop a gaseous method of mass deacidification.
