Abstract
Characteristic changes in wool caused by finishing treatments are discussed. Hydrolytic influences, without actual fiber decomposition, are considered along with wool damage caused by hot dye liquors and reversible wool damage due to acid residues. Limits of chemical test methods are discussed including anomalies of chemically crosslinked wool and liquor circulation and wool damage. -- AATA
