Abstract
On the basis of finds in Switzerland, the article shows how the chemical analysis of metals can contribute to archaeological studies of the Bronze Age. Objects can be dated by examining variations in the alloys of copper and tin and the varying degrees of impurity in the copper. The author not only discusses finding in the field of metal technology but also reveals historic-economic aspects of the Bronze Age.
