Abstract
Use of the Research Libraries Information Network (RLIN) automated bibliographic database to report both cooperative and individual efforts by Research Libraries Group (RLG) members in library preservation. The author focuses on two particular areas: database enhancements that make item-specific preservation information retrievable from RLIN records by use of the USMarc 007 field for microform information; and proposals and efforts to code condition information in the database. Careful use of the automation of preservation information is seen as a good management strategy.
