Abstract
In studies on the influence of voltage on the curing process, coatings of thickness ranging from 20-80 microns were cured using beam voltages of 60-140 V, other conditions being constant. The effectiveness of the cure was examined by measuring gel content, hardness and double bond content, as well as adhesion and elasticity. The results indicate that for maximum cure of a given coating thickness an optimum voltage exists. Also the adjustment of the voltage to the coating thickness permits a profile cure within the coating layer. -- AATA
