Abstract
Brief description of various lining methods. Lining adhesives are said to contain glue, oil and resin. The Dutch wax-resin method is discussed. It is noted that damage is often caused by heavy ironing. An example of a Turner in which the impasto was leveled by heavy ironing is presented. The relationship between lining and cleaning is considered.
