Abstract
This bibliography is intended as a general resource on textiles and costumes. The difference between textile and costume is that costumes are usually complicated by their 3-dimensionality and added elements, such as linings and fastenings; there are a few listings that refer specifically to the problems of caring for costumes, especially the problems of display. This bibliography is not exhaustive, and is not intended as a how-to for conservators but as a guide to finding necessary information for the proper care of a textile collection or textile pieces in a historica collection. The resources listed are easily obtainable in libraries or from the sources, and are reasonable inexpensive.
