Abstract
Briefly describes the improved techniques for measuring the radial profile of fluorine in an archaeological bone, and deducing an age by comparing this with the optimum profile calculated from diffusion theory. The results are then given for moa and human bones from New Zealand, and human bones from the islands of Tepoto (Tuamoto Archipelago) and Ua Huka (Marquesas Archipelago).
