This article addresses the valorization process of the Photographic Conservation Department from the Archivo de Documentaci6n Grafica y Audiovisual from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. The historical facts and social processes of the university are put into context, and how the archive was found and the methodology used once it was constituted as such are also mentioned. Two case studies are highlighted in order to disclose part of the work done at the conservation laboratory, reporting the treatments undertaken in each case. Finally, the valorization and the archive diffusion strategies are presented as a result of the work carried out during the last few years.
