A study of the woodworking techniques of the Viking as evidenced in their houses, pathways, door posts, roof supports, partition walls and revetments, primarily on the results of the excavations at the wood quay. Fishamble Street sites in Dublin during the past seven years. Well preserved 10th to 12th century house foundations and 13th century wooden quayside revetments have been examined, providing a valuable source of information for a history of carpentry in Dublin in the period before the Anglo-Norman invasion.
