Abstract
Both egg production and hatchability of moths were reduced by a single exposure to CO2 for 1 hour. However, the more damaging effect was on the hatchability of eggs which indicated that fertilization was effected. To reduce the hatchability of the eggs that are laid 48-72 hr after treatment it would probably be necessary to repeat the treatment at 24-hr intervals.
