The test described in this article was primarily devised to guide the manufacture of waxes suitable for laminating. It has also been found useful for the selection of appropriate materials by consumers in the paper processing field. A set of laminating mixtures submitted by a mill producing and laminating glassine papers was tested and the results obtained were found to be in satisfactory agreement with the practical experience on the performance of the mixtures. The sensitivity of the adhesion test to changes in the composition of the laminating is brought out very well by the tests on the various laminating mixtures. It is believed that the procedure will be found useful in the development of special laminating waxes and that it will insure uniformity of the materials which have already been found satisfactory.
