The article presents details necessary to duplicate electrolytic treatment and conservation processes. These procedures have proven to be satisfactory on artifacts recovered from any archeological environment, be it marine, freshwater or terrestrial. The most extensive experience was with iron and silver and a few small brass objects and a small bronze breech- block. Electrolysis is the quickest and most effective means of processing large brass or bronze cannons. Any aesthetically pleasing patina would be sacrificed; but that is a small price to pay for a chemically stable artifact.
