Responding in a letter to the editor to Ben Webb, (See <i>AATA</i> <b>28-1349</b>), the authors point out that there is a currently unexplained variation in the results of radiocarbon dating among international laboratories and that a program to improve matters is under way. Even so, the level of agreement is considered remarkable in view of the nature of the process.
