Abstract
This proposal requests funds to purchase rehousing supplies for four collections in four bureaus, selected from among 45 qualifying collections for their exceptional value, use-potential, and risk of loss. Concurring with that assessment, two members of the Research, Libraries, and Archives Collections Conservation Task Force (RELACT), the Smithsonian Institution Archives (SIA) and Conservation Analytical Laboratory (CAL), offer in-kind expert staff support and time commitments. Each of the four participating bureaus provides in-kind support in the form of work space, and a designated bureau representative with knowledge of the collections to be rehoused.
