Abstract
The restoration of the painted and rusting cast iron facade of the Wilmington, Delaware, Grand Opera House is described. The paint and rust were removed from the 19th-century facade by sandblasting with Du Pont's staurolite abrasive sands. The decision to sandblast was based on practical considerations. -- AATA
