Abstract
In a lecture to the Textile Conservation Group, Ms. Willman described the treatment of an 18th century dress, undertaken at the Brooklyn Museum. Examination of the robe and petticoat indicated that the dress was originally constructed 1735-1740, and altered twice. The dress was returned to its original state as a closed gown. Missing areas were replaced with an 18th century silk virtually identical to the original, and re-embroidered at the request of the curator. -- AATA
