Abstract
This catalogue of the 53 garments in the McDougall Collection (23 of Guatemalan origin and 30 Mexican pieces) contains many diagrams of weaves and design motifs, and a glossary of garment, weave, and loom terms. One section discusses the methods and equipment used for preparing cotton for weaving. Other sections contain descriptions -- color, motifs, weaves, yarns, dyes -- of all examples of specific types of garments (i.e., huipils, quexquemitls) in the collection. -- AATA
