Abstract
The excellence of ancient Chinese bronze-casting has never been equaled. The Chinese made bronzes according to methods that differed greatly from those used in ancient Mesopotamia and Greece. Instead of cold-working the alloy to create shapes and decor, the Chinese relied instead on a direct-casting process, using clay section-molds assembled around a clay core.
