Abstract
Alexander Graham Bell and his research team in Canada built a 60 ft long hydrofoil in 1918, which achieved a record speed of 70.86 mph. The Canadian Government is recognizing this achievement by authorizing construction of a full size replica of the craft. Construction details were tested by building a 1:12 scale model. Such scale models have proven to be extremely useful for the analysis and interpretation of evidence for historic structures. -- AATA
