Abstract
The possibilities of applying atmospheric corrosion inhibitors for conserving metal objects have been studied in the State Hermitage Museum, Leningrad, since the early 1960s. In evaluating requirements for museum purposes, the following factors should be considered: minimal toxicity inertness; and fungistatic activity. Taking into consideration the above factors, the chemical VNKH-L-20 is regarded as suitable for museum work.
