Abstract
During the second World War parts of the stock of the University Library of Göttingen were stored in a mine where they became wet. When they returned to the library after the war, they were moldy. The desdructive work of the microorganisms was checked by first drying and then storage in the driest rooms available. Since B971 work has been carried out for the restoration of these damaged prints, manuscripts and graphics. The problems of disinfection and conservation are critically discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of several bleaching methods are shown. The chlorine dioxide bleaching method in waterbath, which is practised in Göttingen, is explained. Göttingen's new sheet forming machine is presented in text and with pictures. Special attention is given to re-sizing. -- AATA
