A comprehensive five-year study of paper and related materials to be undertaken by the Society of American Archivists in cooperation with the National Bureau of Standards and the National Archives and Records Service is announced. Three major objectives are: 1) to develop informa-tion and test methods concerning chemical stability; 2) to determine proper environmental conditions for preservation; 3) to prepare and pub-lish a comprehensive handbook. -- AATA
