Abstract
A general article on examination of objects in the Freer Technical Laboratory; particular cases noted as follows: two ivory statuettes C-14 dated, one of fossil ivory; a Suiko period Japanese wooden statue dated (ca. 600 A.D.); two late Chinese belt-hooks analyzed (3.2 and 5% Zn); list of Chinese bronzes dated by thermoluminescence. A version of thechecklist used at the Freer for examination of bronzes is also given, and a chart showing that the lead content of Chinese bronzes appears to increase in later objects.
