For several years, the restoration workshop of the national archives has used polyamides as a reinforcement rpocedure of documents. These materials provide resistance and flexibility to fragile documents. This procedure was applied to the restoration of tracing paper. The method of deacidification is chosen in terms of the insolubility of inks and the degree of the acidity of the document. For an 18th century tracing, magnesium methoxide was used.
