Abstract
Study on polymorphic variations in cellulose and factors that lead to variations in cristallinity; Some effects of the latter on papermaking properties. Crystallization process may be an important factor in the ageing of cellulosic fibres. Interpretation of the results and suggestions for further research programmes of improved conservation procedures, such as: prevention of further deterioration, discovery of some of the properties lost through ageing, and interpretation of accelerated testing procedures.
