Abstract
A technique is described for the conservation treatment of wet but not waterlogged wood. The surface remains of a collapsed bentwood box, actively infested with insects and vegetation were subjected to technical analysis before treatment. Successful results were obtained by immersion in a water/ ethyl acohol series which served to sterilize dehydrate and clean the wood in one step.
