Abstract
The conservation study of an old brass statuette has been carried out by using an organic compound, 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3, 4-thiadiazole. This organic compound forms an insoluble polymeric complex coating over the surface of the statuette. It has been observed that the complex coating is resistant to dezincification.
