Abstract
Recent fortuitous discoveries by speleologists yielded additional information to data obtained from classical palaeontological sites. An initial inventory is drawn of the caves in the French departments of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées where remains of wild animals that had accidentally fallen off steep inclines were found. <sup>14</sup>C dating was obtained from some samples. -- AATA
