This article presents a few preliminary results of excavations and analyses conducted at the Magdalenian and Azilian site of Abri Dufaure (Sorde-l'Abbaye, Landes, France) at the northern confines of the Basque country. Archaeological and faunal finds are summarized; chronostratigraphic data and discoveries relative to the seasonality of human occupation during the terminal Magdalenian Alleröd are also presented. Comparisons are drawn with nearby Abri Duruthy. Dufaure and Duruthy are part of an important late glacial site at the foot of the Pastou cliff which overlooks a ford in the Gave d'Oloron river. The Pastou was a winter reindeer-hunting site and dwelling place favored by groups active in the final Paleolithic in the western Pyrenean area. -- AATA
