Abstract
The range of brushes used by Japanese scroll mounters for pasting and their correct use are described. The type of fibre or bristle, brush use and brush care are given for: noribake, shigoke, tsukemawashibake, uwabake, nadebake, uchibake, mizubake and hanebake. The koshi (sieve), noribon (paste bowl), and tawashi (scrubbing brush) are also described. References, photographs.
