Abstract
The authors provide step-by-step instructions for making a protective mount to store, handle, or display small, flat, textile specimens. The mount consists of two acid-free window mats hinged together along one edge and closed along the others by hook and loop fasteners. Silk or cotton crepeline stretched and glued to the inner face of each mat with PVA supports the specimen sandwiched between them. Stitches through the crepeline but not the artifact holds it in place. -- AATA
