Abstract
The Hamilton Kerr Institute was founded in response to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's 1972 report on Training in the Conservation of Paintings as a program which would provide the practical experience of an apprenticeship in combination with formal study. The author details the qualifications required for admission into the program and the three-year course of study. -- AATA
