Abstract
After a brief review of the reasons for treatment and the methods used to preserve waterlogged leather, the author discusses the procedures used on artifacts from the mary rose. After their recovery pieces are washed and recorded then impregnated with PEG 400. The leather is frozen and freeze-dried to complete the treatment. -- ICCROM
