Abstract
This is a photomicrographic atlas of woody, non-woody, and man-made fibers used in papermaking. Since it is impossible to illustrate all the modifications, the author has chosen the most typical characteristics of each cell type. The book is divided into softwoods, hardwoods, miscellaneous plant fibers, wool, silk, asbestos and man-made fibers. It includes an index to scientific and common names and a glossary. There is a plate for each type discussed at different magnifications and views. -- AATA
