Abstract
Deals with topics of wide interest: the purpose and significance of wet site archaeology; different types of wet sites; special techniques associated with the excavation of wet sites; descriptive reports on their excavations special studies associated with wet site excavations; and problems peculiar to wet site excavation. Program funding and planning require immediate conservation services to preserve the finds; polyethylene glycol impregnation protects organic finds but the long-term conservation plan and storage facilities needed should be taken into consideration as part of the original excavation project. -- AATA
