Abstract
The shapes of silica bodies in the motor cells of <i>Bambusoideae* 1 are divided into two groups: A and B. Group A has a shape of small cube with a height-to-side ratio of less than 2.0. Group B is large and plate-shaped with a ratio of higher than2.0. The shapes of silica bodies were studied by scanning electron microscopy. Most Take belongs to Group A, while Sasa to Group B. -- AATA
