Abstract
Soil samples at various depths of 10 cores drilled at the Asawa region of southern Tenri city, Nara prefecture, central Japan were analyzed for phosphate contents by the molybdenum-blue method. Significant vertical pattering of phosphate was found, and high contents were correlated with human-modified sediments. With limitations on horizontal distributions, it was not possible to distinguish habitation areas from fields. -- AATA
