Abstract
After the analysis of brass objects from Nuremberg from the 15th to 17th centuries, bronze and brass sculptures of the 16th century from Augsburg were analyzed. It was found that tin bronzes, like those used for casting cannons, lead-tin-bronzes, copper-tin-lead-zinc alloys and brass were used. At Augsburg, there is no dependence of the composition of an alloy from the time of manufacture or the foundry. The heterogeneity of the composition of groups of objects, which belong together, lead to the affirmation that those alloys were used for casting statuettes or sculptures, which at the period of manufacture were by chance available. -- AATA
