Bronzes from the Bosporus region from the 6th century BC to the 8th century AD have been analyzed. Data from approximately 1000 objects from 25 archaeological sites containing copper, tin, lead, and in later periods also zinc, as well as the trace elements bismuth, silver, antimony, arsenic, nickel, cobalt, and gold, are treated statistically. Nine metallurgical groups are distinguished. The particular properties of different types of ornaments, tools, weapons, coins, and decorative pieces are described. -- AATA
