The paper describes the use of modified Museum Documentation Association (MDA) cards to record the details of conservation work. The problems encountered by a service unit, such as the need for details of working time and cost of materials to be recorded, are emphasized. The conventions which have to be adopted to enable the information to be analyzed by computer are also described.
