Floral arrangements give a period room a sense of use, purpose, and life; flowers and containers representative of the period add to the room's authenticity. Sources of documentation to insure historical accuracy are suggested. Reproductions of suitable containers or liners to protect original pieces can be used. Plants and planters must be carefully selected to avoid introducing an anachronism into the setting. A museum cutting garden is recommended. The problems of specific dried flowers are noted.
