Abstract
During the 1997 field season at Tel Dan, Israel, excavators recovered a glass bead from Middle Bronze I (= MB IIA) period Tomb 1025. Typologically, the specimen dated to the late 16th century BCE. Wavelength-dispersive electron microprobe analysis suggests that the bead dates to the 1st or 2d century of the 2d millennium BCE and that it had probably been imported from Syria or Mesopotamia.
