Otavol in the United Kingdom manufactures flame retardant finishes for upholstery. Otavol FR is a clear, durable flame retardant that can be applied with a dip and pad process to cotton, wool, man-made fibers, and their blends. Otavol WBC has equivalent properties and is used for back-coating. Lower coating weights and higher processing speeds are achieved with this product. Otavol WBC is manufactured as either a paste or a foam. PTE M111 imparts a clear finish to any absorbent natural or man-made fabric. It is not toxic, corrosive, or hygroscopic and can be applied by spraying or padding.
