Materials and methods for completing the third band in the <i>Tulips and Stars</i> sampler are presented. Designs in 18th-century Spanish samplers inspired this sampler. Three stars are centered on the middle line; an inner row of Holbein stitch squares meet on that line. The stars as well as a band of blocks are worked in satin stitch. The stitch sequence begins with the center star, and is completed with the satin stitch blocks.
