Abstract
For two major international exhibitions sponsored by the Detroit Institute of Arts, the conservator was required to design a packing system for the objects, complete a comprehensive condition report on each object before it was packed, supervise packing and unpacking at each exhibition site, and perform any remedial conservation treatments when required. Peripheral duties of the travelling conservator included the taking of samples for analysis, acting as courier, and supervising filming.
