Abstract
The feasibility of using stable, high neutron capture cross section, rare earth elements (REE) as external tracers in estuarine waters is being investigated. The method described in this article was developed from studies with artificial sea water and from preliminary investigations of REE background concentrations in San Francisco Bay.
