Traditional architecture in the Hedmark region in Norway dating from the 18th and 19th centuries is not very well known. Here it is studied using the case of a typical farm, at Sorum, whose buildings are described and analyzed. The author points out that the houses, which are usually quite old, have been periodically transformed. Rather than pull them down their inhabitants preferred to modify and enlarge them in order to meet new needs. -- AATA
